About me According to Roland Barthes (1993) the two main aspects of, or thoughts behind, photography are beautification and documentation. For me, this illustrates why it has been useful in both art and science as an aesthetic, and a reality describing device. As a young girl I was fascinated by my father's camera and took pictures with it any chance I got. My fear of missing out and forgetting resulted in the need to register people, events and experiences in my life. My goal became to portray people without the staged faces they put on when aware they are being photographed. I try to capture people as they truly are, in their element and at ease. It is necessary to know your camera to acquire the desired results. I think I obtained this ability by taking photographic courses, by having a curious nature and by lots of practice. Take a look at my pictures and see for yourself. Even though I recognise the necessity of the technical aspects of photography, the social aspect is my main focus and fed my photographic drive. |
